Curled up in baby's pushchair, Mummy Dog Daisy looks and acts more like a human baby than could be imagined. But, as with all real babies, the wants and wishes of the mother, puppies and human baby in the household are not synchronised. When one wants to play, the others want to sleep; when one wants to hide the others want to play, and when the puppies and human baby want to watch TV, Mummy Dog Daisy isn't interested.
There are, however, three things that all agree on--everyone is happy to make a mess, nobody wants to clear it up and when tea-time comes, even human mummy is in agrees it's the best thing to do!
Delightfully blurring the boundaries between human and canine behaviour, Lisa Kopper will appeal to all young imaginations who think acting like a puppy could be perfectly normal. Soft, pastel illustrations by Hamish Hamilton complement the short, simple sentences that can be read by trainee readers and the whole is a loving, ultimately harmonious tale that will comfort young minds. (Up to five years.) --Lucie Naylor
