Synopsis

Much has changed since the first edition that came out in 1994. Today's nonprofit managers must juggle many responsibilities, including meeting the changing needs of the community, securing the funding to make ends meet, and responding to the often conflicting demands of founders, clientele, staff, and trustees. This new edition of the core volume in the widely respected Mission-Based Management Series has been expanded to provide a comprehensive plan for successfully meeting all of these challenges, all the while remaining true to the overall mission of the organization.

From the Inside Flap

This significantly updated edition of the McAdams Award?winning classic expands on the invaluable hows and whys of not-for-profit empowerment covered in the original to offer highly effective new ideas and new criteria for success in today?s increasingly competitive nonprofit terrain.

To win funding and support, nonprofit managers have to be more aggressive and more efficient than ever before in ensuring their organization pursues its mission, meets community needs, and maintains its budget, while juggling the demands of funders, clientele, boards, staff, community, and bankers. • Includes an updated list of core characteristics of successful not-for-profits
  • Includes a new chapter on how to use technology to improve mission outcomes
  • Is written by a nationally recognized expert who has trained thousands of people in hundreds of seminars on the best practices in nonprofit management
  • Can be used in tandem with the Mission-Based Management Workbook, further ensuring that nonprofit leaders build success into every initiative
