How another "X Factor" can improve your swing and your game When he began applying video analysis to the swings of professional and amateur golfers, Jim McLean quickly realized something: when he traced the plane of the clubshaft during the swing, the pros′ clubshafts, nearly vertical at the three–quarter point of the backswing, were much flatter on the downswing, creating an X at the three–quarter point. About the Author
Jim McLean has worked in the golf world for more than thirty years, twenty at Jim McLean Golf School in Doral, Florida, with top touring professionals and recreational golfers. Beginning in 1977, he and his research partner, Carl Welty, pioneered the use of video in analyzing the swings of both professional and amateur golfers. Phil Franké is widely recognized as the best golf instruction illustrator in the business today.
