It commences with an introduction to single fibre failure and an examination of textile wear, before discussing brittle tensile and ductile tensile fracture and high-speed tensile break. The book then proceeds to discuss processed fibre ends and yarn testing, fabric testing and composite testing. In a series of examples and case studies, the authors look at household textiles and carpets, as well as industrial workwear and military clothing, before proceeding to the wear and tear situation in seat belts, military webbings and cords, ropes, and other industrial products.
