The second edition of this text updates the introduction to marker technique and adds a new section on special methods. It is rewritten and revised throughout, with two new chapters and eight additional pages of colour. There are five step-by-step demonstrations. The author explores the special characteristics of using felt tip markers as an expressive tool and shows how designers can get the most out of using them. Wang discusses how to fully exploit the marker's range of applications and techniques. His guidelines cover many types of subjects, including sketching of landscapes, buildings, people and natural panoramas using a variety of lines, textures and tonal values to create different effects. Details are given on types of paper and colour selection. This book should be of interest to architects, landscape architects, artists, designers, graphic designers and other professionals.

Hardcover. Condition: Very Good. Dust Jacket Condition: Very Good. 1st Edition. First Edition (Number Line to 1). This book and dust jacket are in very nice condition. You can see the blue covers in the photos. They are exceptionally clean. There is very little wear, a pinprick nick down from the top edge of the front cover, two thin horizontal creases off the top edge of the spine, and a little bit of crinkling at the rear side of the spine just off the bottom edge. The six cover edges are in excellent condition, no rubbing. The same goes for the four corners. The page edges look very clean. The book is very solidly bound from cover to cover with nicely tight pages throughout and nicely tight covers as well. The pages look perfectly clean. Scrolling through, I'm not finding any instances of soiling. The white inside covers and end papers are also perfectly clean. The pages are also in excellent condition. There is a teeny tiny crease just above the bottom corners of ten consecutive pages, obviously very far from the print. I didn't see any other creasing. There are no placeholder creases. There are no markings in the book. No attachments of any kind. And no one has written their name or anything else anywhere. You can see the dust jacket in the first few photos. It's in very nice condition. There are no tears or chips. The white coloring has not gotten dirty as one would have expected. There is a little bit of what looks like silvery coloring on the rear up from the bottom edge at the margin. It doesn't look like soiling. I think it's just a little bit of color loss, some superficial rubbing perhaps. The flaps are also quite clean. The top edge of the front flap has a little bit of crinkling. The jacket is NOT price-clipped, not clipped at all. It will be fitted with a protective cover after the photos are taken. From the dust jacket: 'No longer a novelty, the felt-tip marker has become the most popular drawing medium today, replacing pen, pencil, and other color media. This uniquely expressive tool possesses special characteristics that enable you to achieve the exact visual impact you desire. In Sketching With Markers Thomas C. Wang thoroughly explores what these unusual features are and how you can most effectively make use of them. Whether you are an architect, or graphic designer, you'll discover that these inexpensive, yet versatile, sketching tools can improve your overall drawing performance. They combine harmoniously with other media, they are easy to use, and they are available in a wide variety of colors-- fully enabling you to produce highly sophisticated renderings-- at a minimal cost. Wang provides all the information you need in order to fully exploit the marker's wide range of applications and techniques. His guidelines cover all types of subjects, including the sketching of landscapes, buildings, people, and natural panoramas, using a variety of lines, textures, and tonal values to create different effects with the marker. Many sample illustrations reveal the marker's incredible diversity.'. Seller Inventory # 005290
