Book Description
Cambridge Literature is a series of literary texts edited for study by students aged 14–18 in English-speaking classrooms. It will include novels, poetry, short stories, essays, travel-writing and other non-fiction. The series will be extensive and open-ended and will provide school students with a range of edited texts taken from a wide geographical spread.
About the Author
Graham Swift was born in 1949 and is the author of many acclaimed novels, two collections of short stories (England and Other Stories, and Learning to Swim and Other Stories) and Making an Elephant, a book of essays, portraits, poetry and reflections on his life in writing. With Waterland he won the Guardian Fiction Prize (1983), and with Last Orders the Booker Prize (1996). Both novels have since been made into films. Graham Swift's work has appeared in over thirty languages.

Hardcover. Condition: Near Fine. Dust Jacket Condition: Very Good. 1st Edition. British re-issued edition, first printing, 1985. First thus. With original unclipped jacket (£9.95). Originally published by London Magazine Editions in 1982, this is the first printing of the Heinemann reissue. Jacket has minor patchy edge/shelf wear, the odd small mark, one very small (approx. 3mms) tear to front lower corner, the odd small crease/rub to edges, a little pushing/rubbing to head/tail of spine and to corners and the odd small crease/rub to front/back inner flaps. Boards are near fine (having been well protected by the jacket) with a little browning to spine, a hint of pushing to corners and minor pushing/rubbing to head/tail of spine. Pages are generally clean and the binding is tight. Pages are tanned (due to quality of paper used). Very occasional small mark/spot of foxing to pager. No other faults. A nice copy.
