John G. Fuller
ISBN 10: 0399116141 ISBN 13: 9780399116148
Used Hardcover First Edition Signed Quantity: 1
Seller:
Rareeclectic
(Pound ridge, NY, U.S.A.)

Book Description Hardcover. Condition: Good. Dust Jacket Condition: Good. 1st Edition. First Edition (NAP, Berkley Publishing= NAP). Once listed, this will be the Only Signed First Edition for sale on the Internet. Note that this copy is also part of a larger listing I have, a listing of eight of Fuller's books, all signed. The signed inscription here is to the author's son. It reads 'To Judd Fuller-- A magnificent example of a son, but naturally it would have to be expected with a great dad as an example (Ha! Ha! Or is it har-dee-har-har-har??) Your humble father, John G. Fuller, (Boy Writer and teen age geriatric).' The covers have toning/discoloration at their margins. The blue spine has faded to a grayish hue. The silver lettering on the spine is free of wear. The bottom edge of the spine has a little bit of crinkling/bending, no tears or rubbing. The cover edges and corners are in excellent shape. The top and middle page edges have just the slightest bit of soiling, a small thin sliver on the top one and some speck-sized spots on the middle one. The impact on the actual pages is minimal, two consecutive pages have a sliver of a tan spot just off their top edge, a few middle edges with a speck. The spine has a slight forward lean, but the book is solidly bound from cover to cover. The covers are nicely tight. The signed front end paper has a little tanning just off its top edge and a larger spot below the end of the inscription (see photo). The title page has a small thin line on it, quite minor, looks like a tiny pen jag. There are a few early pages with a few spots that look like thumb prints or marks. One is on the blank verso of the dedication page, three are just off the white margin of the last page of the Foreword. Two or three light tan spots are on the blank verso of the last page of Chapter I. None of the other blank versos facing other chapter pages have any spots, that all look perfectly clean. The text pages are exceptionally clean, one very small tan spot off the top edge of one page. There is one small horizontal tear just off the bottom edge of one page text, not reaching near to the print, and there is one tear near the top corner of the blank rear end paper. I only saw only one crease, a tiny one just below the tip of the top corner of one page. There are no markings in the book. No attachments of any kind. And the signed inscription is the only writing to be found anywhere. You can see the dust jacket the first few photos. It has some soiling on the spine and off the top edge of the rear, just adjacent to the spine. The spine is clearly toned as well. There is a small spot on the white front cover and there is a thin tear on the front just adjacent to the spine, and another off the top edge of the rear, also just adjacent to the spine. There is one other very small tear off the front bottom edge. The flaps are in very good shape, no tears or conspicuous soiling. There is a little crinkling at the top corner of the rear flap, also a few tiny tan specks there. The jacket is NOT price-clipped ($8.95), not clipped at all. I have always had it in a fitted protective cover. From the dust jacket: 'When the renowned investigative writer John Fuller stumbled upon a jet-age ghost story-- crews wouldn't fly their planes because of the reappearing apparitions of a dead pilot and flight engineer from a crashed sister ship, the famed Lockheed Tristar, the first jumbo jet ever to crash, in the Florida Everglades, with the loss of 101 persons. Fuller's book is a true-life suspense thriller, a classic reconstruction of the mysterious crash, and scores of interviews with airline flight personnel. Fuller ultimately makes his own personal contact with the spirit of the dead flight engineer, Don Repo. It is a spine-tingling, persuasive account with implications of spiritual realities that are of increasing interest in today's world of ever more extraordinary scientific breakthroughs.'.
