Synopsis
This is an interpretation of Hegel's philosophy and its bearing on European thought from the French revolution to modern times. First published in 1954, this book includes an epilogue in which Marcuse analyzes developments and changes in social and political theory occasioned by the challenge that the Soviet Union presents to the phulosophy of society and the individual.
About the Author
Herbert Marcuse taught at Columbia, Harvard, and Brandeis universities before his death in 1979.
