Observing that no account of Flixton, Urmston, and Davyhulme was in existence other than what is contained in Baines' History of Lancashire, the writer began in 1893 to compile every reference to those places he saw. The result is now contained in these pages. They make no pretence of finality or erudition, but as a faithful record of events and facts.
