Stephen Peckham is Senior Lecturer at the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine. From 2000 to 2005 he was Head of Sociology and Social Policy at Oxford Brookes University. He has worked with a number of national and local voluntary organisations and is a Non-Executive Board Member of a primary care trust. Liz Meerabeau is Head of the School of Health and Social Care at the University of Greenwich. From 1993 to 1997 she was a research manager with the Policy Research Programme in the Department of Health, mainly managing projects on education and workforce issues for all health care professions.
