Book Description hardcover. Condition: Good. Dust Jacket Condition: Good. First UK edition. Hardcover w/ mylar protected unclipped dust jacket. Ex-school library, with standard markings, including stamps on prelims and endpapers, residue (from tape or glue?) on edge of both flaps and underneath, on endpapers. Light residue on dj, creases, and chips. The text itself and drawings are unmarked. Edition details: Copyright page states, "First published in Great Britain 1973 by Macmillan London Limited." The UK Macmillan publishers have said "Since 1968/9 our practice has been to omit the date from the title page. Instead, the words 'First published (say) 1972 by.' now appear on the back of the title page of all first editions." (From First editions, a Guide to Identifications, Zempel and Verkler.) This copy omits the date from the title page and does state, "First published in Great Britain 1973 by Macmillan London Limited."
