Till now the revolunon of the grit of May had been talked of as an event which had faved the republic, while the members who had honourably protefied againlt that foul coairacy were fiill in chains; butthe voice of public indignation became too loud to fufi'er this violation of national jufiice to continue, and the do purice who had figned the celebrated protefi were fet at liberty, after fome l'truggles with the mountain-faction, and took their feats in the convention.
