His pictures are but little known and are not of a nature to obtain him great reputation but the numerous fresco paintings he executed in Rome in the church of Santi Quattro, and at Florence in the Pitti palace, convey a high idea of the talent he possessed. In contemplating such great works, one can with difficulty be persuaded, that the artist did not begin his studies until he was 18 years of age, and that he scarce reached the age of 48.
