Very nice hardcover in illustrated paper covered boards with very light color loss at spine ends and lower tips. 96pp text is crisp and unmarked save for a faint and small splash mark on page block fore-edge. Original price clipped dj is complete, shows micro wrinkles at upper board tips but displays beautifully. It looked just like a real pony, but it was not in a field or a stall. It was in a junk shop. And it squealed from rust and age when it walked. 'It's been stuck away for years and years,' said Mrs. Boddy, who owned the shop, Lucky Cathy bought it for a penny. That was why it was called the penny pony. It was not a live pony, but it was the next best thing, and Cathy looked after it as if it were a real pony - until she and Roger had to go away.
