Synopsis:
This novel is based on a story told to the author by her father. In Germany during World War I, an uncle of Lucian Freud was accused of rape and narrowly missed being executed. He then turned to God and become involved with a sect of Christians who predicted the end of the world.
About the Author:
Esther Freud was born in London in 1963. She has worked in television and theatre as both an actress and a writer, and is the author of the novels Hideous Kinky and Peerless Flats.
She lives in London W10.
