"Oxford Reading Tree Robins" are extension stories to give competent readers practice in tackling longer and more complex stories. The three new packs of "Robins" have fresh new covers and reset story text in line with the new edition "Oxford Reading Tree". The characters, storylines and settings are based on life at home, school and in the community. They can be used at Stages 6-10 of "Oxford Reading Tree", and are matched to Book Bands for easy reference. Each pack of 6 stories includes a Teaching Notes booklet. The 24pp Teaching Notes booklet, which is included in the pack of 6 stories, is the same size as the pupil books for easy classroom management. Included in the booklet are a Vocabulary Chart listing Year 1 high frequency words and context words, and a Curriculum Coverage Chart listing activities and outcomes for England, Scotland, Northern Ireland and Wales. Every story has individual notes and suggested activities which focus particularly on Comprehension. There are sections for Group and Independent Reading Activities, Speaking and Listening Activities, and Writing, with each section showing the relevant NLS Objectives covered.
Within each section are prompts and suggestions for responding to the story, personal experiences, cross-curricular links, role play, and further suggestions on how to observe pupils' progress. All in a helpful and easy-to-use layout. Teaching Notes include a vocabulary chart for NLS high frequency words and context words; and Curriculum coverage chart for England, Scotland, Northern Ireland and Wales.
