Mansoor Shah was born in Multan in March 1926. He joined the Royal Indian Air Force in June 1944, and graduated as a fighter reconnaissance pilot. In 1947 he transferred to Pakistan and was granted a permanent commission in the Pakistan Air Force (PAF), where he later held senior command and
staff appointments. He retired from the PAF in 1972. After his retirement, he worked for a private company, flying civilian aircraft. In 1983 he finally retired from aviation and started his own business. He has now retired from business as well.
