Synopsis
This text considers the physical operation of devices, the basics of semiconductors and PN Junction, bipolar junction transistor operation and MOSFET operation. The result is a gradual introduction to these ideas within the context of their importance where they are needed. First published in 1982, this text offered a different way to teach electrical engineers about electronic circuits. This fourth edition has been extensively revised and includes information on devices and circuits, analogue circuits and digital circuits. An intructor's manual with transparency masters is available free of charge with this text (0-19-511769-7).

About the Author
Adel S. Sedra is Dean of the Faculty of Engineering at the University of Waterloo and former Provost of the University of Toronto.Kenneth C. Smith (KC) is Professor Emeritus in Electrical and Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering, and Information Studies at the University of Toronto.
