The twins take up too much space and they need two of everything-two cribs, two high chairs, two of every toy. They also need two parents to watch out for them all the time. Who’s left, their big sister wonders, to watch out for her?

EVE BUNTING has written over two hundred books for children, including the Caldecott Medal-winning Smoky Night, illustrated by David Diaz, The Wall, Fly Away Home, and Train to Somewhere. She lives in Southern California.
Nancy Carpenter, illustrator of many successful picture books, lives in Brooklyn, New York. From School Library Journal:
PreSchool-Grade 3. An older sibling laments the changes that twins have brought to her life. The narrator looks on resentfully as the toddlers become the center of attention, taking up all of her parents' time and energy, and leaving her to wonder if she's still Dad's special girl. However, when a neighbor complains about too much nighttime crying, she finds herself defending her sisters: "Who does she think she is, picking on our twinnies?" The last scene shows the family snuggled together in Mom and Dad's bed, the older girl nestled between the babies, holding a tiny foot in each hand. With bright backgrounds of blue and green, Carpenter's realistic oil paintings show the toddlers being admired by strangers, running away from their parents at the beach, chewing on bath toys, and howling through the night. The adults look appropriately harried; the older sister is often placed off to the side, with a disgusted expression on her face. Bunting uses a light touch, ensuring that her protagonist's feelings are made clear, while including humorous scenes and reassuring moments with Mom or Dad that make the happy resolution believable. Put this one on the new-baby shelf and recommend it to older siblings who think that just one is bad enough.?Joy Fleishhacker, School Library Journal
