From the Author:

I wrote The Taming of the Chew: A Holistic Guide to Stopping Compulsive Eating after struggling throughout my life with food control issues. I was bulimic for seven years, anorexic for a time and obese for many years. None of this was any fun and all and I felt my energy so bound up! I was miserable a good deal of the time and quite depressed and anxious. When I was approaching my fiftieth birthday I decided I had to really do something special. I went to Death Valley, California and went on a Vision Quest. That is, I spent four days and nights all alone in the desert with no food. I meditated, I thought about my life and where I had traveled. I wanted to find a focus for the next fifty years I plan to spend walking around on this planet. It was then that the ideas for this book began to form. By the end of my Quest, I had made my plans. The "Chew" has proven helpful to thousands of people already -- mostly female but many males as well. I combine my l! ife experience, my professional experience as a NH Licensed Psychologist with over 20 years of experience and my experience as a Doctor of Holistic Health in this work.
