LEON GARFIELD was born and educated in Brighton. The Second World War interrupted his art studies and he spent five years in the medical corps before returning to England. He worked part-time as a hospital technician until literary success allowed him to become a full-time writer. His books have won many awards. He died in 1996.
JASPER BRITTON has worked extensively with the RSC and his television credits include CASUALTY and PEAK PRACTICE.
