For eight long years, a man known only as Philippe, has languished in the dark recesses of the Bastille. After a visit from the Bishop of Vannes, known also as Aramis, who reveals to Philippe the circumstances surrounding his imprisonment, we embarkon a bloodcurdling story of identity, dishonour and treachery that could destroy the French monarchy. The ensuing jailbreak and battle for the throne, in which the three musketeers are re-united, is one of the most thrilling, swashbuckling adventures of them all.
