When Sarah's father has a nervous breakdown and leaves home abruptly, her mother goes to track him down. Her parents are caught up in their own private nightmare and Sarah is left to look after her two young sisters. She struggles to keep things as normal as possible and to keep other bossy adults, like social services and school people, from discovering the truth. Social services do of course find out, but just as Mum returns home. Dad wants the family to move to Ireland but they can't sell the house. When he finally comes home it seems that the whole family has shared in his breakdown, and must work now to repair the breaks.

About the Author:
Josephine Feeney was born and brought up in Leicester where she still lives. She was a secondary school teacher before becoming a full-time writer and mother. Her book THE DAD HUNTERS was short-listed for the Young Telegraph Book Award. She also writes short stories and plays - her play, DEAR TEACHER, was broadcast on BBC Radio 4.
