Dackman, a sexually active young woman, was traumatized by a diagnosis of breast cancer and the prospect of facing life as a "single-breasted woman." Recovering from a mastectomy, and attempting to cope with an altered body image, she found little practical advice for resuming her sex life. So she recorded her personal experiences in this graphically descriptive guide, which is packed with intimate details of her sexual escapades as a post-mastectomy patient. She includes much information about breast reconstruction. The issue of sexuality and the psychological and emotional impact of a mastectomy are very significant issues, but Dackman's emphasis is on nitty-gritty matters, such as whether to wear a negligee for a lover, what kind to select, etc. The treatment will have great appeal to readers of Cosmopolitan .
