Kirkus Review; A realpolitikal thriller graced with none of the excesses of the genre and involved with the U.S.S.R.'s. arrest of young Roy Keeper as a spy -- he was said to have secured a Pasternakian memoir The Mushroom Cave wanted by everyone including a French publisher. Roy is promised freedom if he confesses but is released only to be killed and his father attempts to find out the real reasons behind all of this which keep changing. Plausible and peremptory -- a hard-to-beat combination.

Biography Robert Rosenblum -- middle initial "J." -- is the author of more than 30 published novels in several genres, though many of these have been published under pseudonyms, among them the best-selling books of "Johanna Kingsley", "Jessica March", "Jean Day Lord", "Angelica Moon", "Robert Maxxe", "David Locke" and with Robt. Nathan, books by "Nicholas Conde" (e.g. THE RELIGION, made into the film, "The Believers"). Born in New York City, he began writing while living in England, but returned to the United States. Most recently he has begun a series of humorous mystery novels featuring the Homeland Security agent "E. Stutz" (nicknamed 'The Bearcat') whose first case is to find an anti-diet serial killer, that is to track down whoever is bumping off diet gurus and advocates of weight loss, and find out why. Nothing is more important to Homeland Security, after all (as we read in our newspapers frequently) than stemming the epidemic of obesity in America ! Robert Rosenblum's new novel is titled DIE, DIE, DIET and is available now as an E-Book for Kindle readers.Review:
Criminals At Large By NEWGATE CALLENDAR New York Times; April 15, 1973,
One of the more gripping, bitter books about the cold war is THE MUSHROOM CAVE by Robert Rosenblum (Doubleday). It is an espionage novel. It also is a merciless comment on present-day morality. This first novel should go to the head of your list.
Hartford Courant; "You'll wait many a moon for another tale of intrigue as good as The Mushroom Cave. It has everything: intricate plot, terse writing, fascinating characterization, and a story line that moves with the speed of a bullet. "
Kirkus; "Plausible and peremptory--- a hard to beat combination."
