This is the work of several authors who describe their experiences of including mathematical modelling in practical service courses. The material provides a view of modelling as it has developed in recent years. The first section of the book is devoted to descriptions of the different types of courses in which mathematical modelling can be helpful, for example, science and engineering, naval architecture, management, courses for physics students and so on. The second section of the book explains how and where mathematical modelling can be useful in schools and finishes with a case study drawn from a Greek school.
