Written to coincide with the 50th anniversary of The Battle of Britain, with the profits from the book donated to the Douglas Bader Foundation, this book uses first-hand accounts of many involved to describe the crucial World War II air battle, on which so much depended. It was the first time for 900 years that the British fought to defend their very shores. The author is a retired permanent commission RAF officer who served from 1939-1957 and has written over 80 books, including a biography of Ginger Lacey. Air Marshal Sir Denis Crowley-Milling wrote the foreword and other contributers include Air Marshall Johnny Johnson, Squadron Leader Ginger Lacey, Major General Galland of the Luftwaffe, Air Commodore Alan Deere, Air Commodore Peter Brothers, Gordon Swanborough, Bill Ginston and Mike Spick.
