This useful engineering handbook has been prepared by two authors well versed in fracture. They also understand the engineering applications for which conveniently tabulated and graphed values of the elastic stress intensity factors are useful, and have made them readily available. Five main geometric divisions are made: flat sheets, stiffened sheets, disks-tubes-bars, three dimensional, and plates-shells. Over half of the volume is devoted to the first category, which is divided into single cracks, multiple cracks, and cracks near stress concentrations, and includes internal and external, straight, curved, and slant cracks under various stretching and bending conditions.
