It covers: WCs, shower rooms; bathrooms (for patients only); nappy and accompanied changing (for public use); changing (for staff and independent adult patients). Most of the sanitary spaces covered come under one of four categories: ambulant; semi-ambulant, suitable for people who walk with difficulty; independent wheelchair; assisted, suitable for users who may be in a wheelcahair, mobile hoist, sanitary or shower chair or may use a walking stick, who need the help of at least two staff to use the facilities (patient spaces only).
