About the Authors

Thomas M. Thomas II, is the founder of Netcerts.com, a leading training and education site for Cisco certification. He was previously a Course Developer for Cisco Systems and was a Group Leader of the Advanced Systems Solutions Engineering team for MCI's Managed Network Services. In his spare time, he has authored OSPF Network Design Solution and Thomas' Telecom and Networking Dictionary. He also likes to work with the Research Triangle Park, North Carolina chapter of the Cisco Professional Association Worldwide (www.ciscopaw.org). Tom is currently working as an Instructor/Consultant for Chesapeake Network Solutions (www.ccci.com).

Michael Coker, CCNP, MCSE, MCP+I, CNA, is a consultant at Netigy Corporation, a Strategic Alliance Partner with Cisco, where he provides e-business infrastructure planning, design, and implementation. Michael is a member of Netigy's Global Security Practice, focusing on VPN design solutions as well as vulnerability assessments and facilitated risk analysis of customers' e-business architectures. He is the co-author of Interconnecting Cisco Network Devices published by Osborne/McGraw-Hill.

Dan Golding, CCNP, is currently Director of Network Planning and Evaluation for NetRail, a Tier One Internet Service Provider. He was previously responsible for Network Architecture and Operations at Mindspring Enterprises.

Andrew Mason has 10 years experience in the networking industry and currently is consulting for Energis-Squared, the largest ISP in the UK. He is involved daily in the design and implementation of complex secure hosted solutions utilizing products from Check Point and Cisco Secure product range.

Mark Newcomb (Spokane, WA) is currently an IS Operations Supervisor for a company that provides medical laboratory services throughout the Pacific.
