"Want to sound like you really know PCBs? (July 10, 1998) Reviewer: A reader from Minneapolis, MN I was looking for a book that would teach me enough about the current technology in electronic component packaging and multilayer PCBs that I wouldn't feel like a fool working with manufacturing engineers, PCB layout people, PCB manufacturers, and assemblers. I think I learned quite a bit; now people think I have years of experience with these technologies. I really like the format. Each chapter in this book is written by a different person: there are people from HP, TI, IBM, Motorola and dozens of others that offer theory and practical knowledge. I think this book is quite useful, but I also think two things are necessary to make it work: (1) moderate electronics/PCB background and (2) a more experienced co-worker who can answer any questions that you have. The best and most up to date book of its kind. (April 5, 1997) Reviewer: A reader This book is a must for any engeneering department involved in printed circuit board design as well as production engineering, quality engineering, etc. It is the most comprehensive book of its kind that I have seen. The new edition includes leading and bleeding edge technologies and goes into great detail. This is not a basics book. If your looking for a reference guide to the full spectrum of the printed circuit board industry, this is the one to buy Amazon.com Reader ReviewsBook Description:
The Printed Circuits Handbook is the bible of its industry, exhaustively covering every facet of printed circuits assemblies. Each edition has been organized around a particular theme, around the changing nature of the industry; the fifth edition has an easier task than those before it, because major changes in miniaturization of printed circuits have been rocking the field in the past two years. This new edition then, the first in 6 years, features completely new design, fabrication, assembly sections, along with exhaustive updating throughout.

Book Description McGraw-Hill Professional, 2007. Book Condition: New. Brand New, Unread Copy in Perfect Condition. A+ Customer Service! Summary: The printed circuit is the basic building block of the electronics hardware industry. It connects virtually all the components used, and affects every employee associated with the product, including design, fabrication, assembly, sourcing, quality, and reliability. There are still very few readily available courses that deal with printed circuits, and, therefore, this handbook remains a major source of information on the subject. Written by a global team of experts from both industry and academia, this new edition of the handbook will deal with both the increasing pressures of High Density Interconnect and the huge government-mandated changes related to lead-free manufacturing.
