This text is intended to present the basic principles of criminal investigation in an interesting and pedagogically sound manner. It has been written with both the instructor and the student in mind. For the instructor, there are a number of pedagocial devices included in the full package. These include a comprehensive power-point based instructional aid and test bank, an instructor's manual and a student guide, and instructor's presentation software. This text and learning package should make teaching a course on criminal investigation both educational and rewarding for both the student and the instructor. For the student there are a number of practice activites, including skill development activities that match many of those necessary for investigative work.
About the Author:
Dr. John Horgan is a senior research fellow at the Centre for the Study of Terrorism and Political Violence, University of St. Andrews. A chartered psychologist, his research interests relate to the psychological aspects of political violence, with a particular focus on how and why people become involved in, and disengage from, terrorism.
