Scandal's daughter . . .

Madeleine Willits was shunned by London society for a scandal that was no fault of hers, and forced to seek a paid position in the country. So when Quinlan Bancroft, Marquis of Warefield, comes to direct the household during his uncle's illness, Maddie is determined to detest the nobleman on sight. But though the marquis is easy to dislike, the man himself is a different matter. Small wonder, then, that Maddie quite forgets herself when he enfolds her in a sweet embrace . . .

Meets the noble lord . . .

Caught kissing his uncle's lovely young companion, Quinlan feels he should make amends, and uses his rank to re-establish Miss Willits in society. Unfortunately, it is soon apparent that Maddie has no idea how to resist importunate young rakes who deem her ripe for the plucking. But Maddie knows there is only one rake whose attentions she truly needs to fear—because only Quinlan Bancroft possesses the power to break her heart.

About the Author:

A native and current resident of Southern California, Suzanne Enoch loves movies almost as much as she loves books. When she is not busily working on her next novel, Suzanne likes to contemplate interesting phenomena, like how the three guppies in her aquarium became 161 guppies in five months.

Review:

When Madeleine Willits learns that her employer's nephew, The Marquis of Warefield, is coming to Langley Hall to inspect the estate, she is not impressed. She ceased to be impressed with the nobility the night she was ruined by a drunken lout who kissed her at Almack's. Though she protested her innocence, everyone blamed her. Quin Bancroft doesn't understand the reason why he has become the target for Madeline's double edged tongue. With each encounter, he becomes more intrigued with his uncle's companion and eventually succumbs to temptation, kissing her. His uncle insists that Quin help reintroduce Maddie to society as a means of apology. Maddie wants nothing to do with this plan. As far as she's concerned, she is quite content living in the country. Maddie's second debut follows a rocky path, made more treacherous by Quin's fiance, Eloise, and his father, The Duke of Highbarrow. Quin does his best to assist Maddie, including some rather amusing 'anti-rake' training. As the season progresses, Maddie continues to point out the inequities of the social system in her own unique way, even as she and Quin fall madly in love with one another. But the path to true love was never a smooth one, and this story takes many delightful twists and turns before they live happily ever after. Ms. Enoch's natural gift for storytelling and flair for clever dialogue shine in this highly entertaining romp. I loved Maddie and Quin. The heroine's struggle to put the painful events of the past behind her is humorous, yet tinged with enough real emotion that I empathized with her tremendously. I believe this will be one of the 'must-read' books of the year, and a serious contender for every romance reader's keeper shelf. A triumph! Susan Enoch's By Love Undone is a lovely blend of humor, emotion, and thoroughly entrancing characters. A must-read! Susan Enoch is fast becoming a favorite with readers everywhere! This sexy romp will make you laugh and perhaps shed a tear or two. Maddie and Quin are spectacular together, and readers will be cheering as this thoroughly star-crossed pair overcome the odds and find the path to true love!
