First came Edward the Emu. Next was Edwina the Emu, and then the mysterious case of Grandpas Teeth. Now comes one more totally hilarious book from the master of the weird and wacky:
Frank is cool; he wears sunglasses. He makes every day an adventure. And he's a dog. Today Frank and his boy owner are off to the museum in search of some really old stuff. They take a trip through history, where they encounter dinosaur skeletons, woolly mammoths, primitive man, and mummies, and have some really strange experiences.
So put on your leash, and join Frank and his boy on a museum adventure only they could have.

PLB 0-06-027674-6 Clement (Grandpa's Teeth, 1998, etc.) serves up another set of familiar events gone awry. For a bespectacled young narrator and his similarly adorned canine sidekick (Frank), a museum visit becomes not only a tour through history and prehistory, but an opportunity to deliver quips at each stop: lucky that Newton wasn't sitting under a coconut tree, why go all the way to the Moon to leave footprints when there's some nice wet cement down the street, with so many mummies around, what became of all the daddies, etc. Literal, elaborately detailed paintings flesh out the imaginative flights, and the book ends with the cleverest twist of all: cheerfully misunderstanding the parental suggestion that he would ``make history'' by cleaning his room, the lad designs an automatic room tidier. Children who prefer their humor broad will be heartily amused. (Picture book. 6-8) -- Copyright ©1999, Kirkus Associates, LP. All rights reserved.
