365 is AIGA's annual presentation of the best in American design, and features the cutting-edge projects that were selected by pre-eminent juries. This year, AIGA has transformed its "Communication Graphics" competition into a suite of competitions, each narrowly focused and judged independently by some of the most influential designers in the field. We expect that each of these competitions will become the premier competition in its category, where designers, business and the public can expect to see outstanding examples of the profession's prowess. Conceived by AIGA in conjunction with award-winning Chicago-based book designers studio blue, 365 22 will include 12 750-word essays that contextualise the ever-changing shape of contemporary graphic design. In addition, AIGA's 2001 Gold Medalists - Samuel Antupit and Paula Scher - will be profiled in insightful biographical essays and retrospective portfolios. All artwork is reproduced in colour and fully captioned; a comprehensi3999ve index lists the designers, illustrators, photographers, typographers, printers and others involved in the creation and production of the year's notable designs.
