For the ultimate Hobbit fan the ultimate celebration of the first part of The Hobbit film trilogy. Two sumptuous hardback books created by the legendary special effects team at Weta Workshop.
Weta Chronicle I: Art & Design is packed with more than 1,000 images of concept artwork, photographs and paintings by the artists working to bring Middle-earth to life, each of whom provides detailed and entertaining commentary that reveals the story behind the vision.
Weta Chronicle II: Creatures and Characters explores the amazing cast of heroes, beasts and beings that populate Middle-earth. Richly illustrated with behind-the-scenes photographs, digital art and film stills, the film’s huge ensemble of characters and creatures, both physical and digital, are revealed, and are accompanied by insider stories of how each came to be created.
As a unique bonus, each book includes a special fold-out feature: a map printed in glow-in-the-dark ink and a three-page fold-out replica of Bilbo’s contract in one book; and a fold-out creature height chart in the other.
Compiled by Weta Workshop senior concept designer Daniel Falconer, these lavish hardback books are bursting with insider information and stunning visual imagery.
