A portfolio of six oversized paintings from The Hobbit illustrated by award-winning artist and The Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit Movie Trilogy film designer, Alan Lee, individually printed on heavyweight stock suitable for framing.
First published on 21st September 1937, 'The Hobbit' is a beloved children’s classic that is widely recognized as an international bestseller. It has now been adapted into an acclaimed film trilogy by Peter Jackson starring Martin Freeman as Bilbo, Ian McKellen as Gandalf, Andy Serkis as Gollum, and Benedict Cumberbatch playing both Smaug the Dragon and the Necromancer.
Renowned Tolkien artist Alan Lee played a decisive role in shaping Jackson’s vision of The Hobbit, and much of the look of the films can be traced back to the 25 paintings and wealth of pencil drawings that Alan produced for the illustrated 60th anniversary edition of the book.
The six pictures contained in this poster collection are taken from those paintings and at 450 x 293mm are large enough to be suitable for hanging or mounting, offering you the chance to enjoy a window into Middle-earth in your own home.
