Leo Kemp lives in Cape Cod with his wife and daughter, working for the Institute of Marine Biology - a seemingly idyllic life that hides heartbreak... A few years ago their son drowned in an accident at sea, and the family cannot come to terms with his death. Then Leo loses his job, and his last field trip with the students ends in tragedy when a wave throws Leo overboard. Now, like his son, he's missing - presumed dead - the community is rocked. Yet when a man is sighted, living on an uninhabited island just miles off shore, rumours begin to circulate...

Review:

Praise for `Ocean Devil':'James MacManus, a seasoned foreign correspondent who discovered the story, has presented it with admirable clarity, illuminating both the contortions of the war in China and the strength of character of this young Englishman who persuaded everyone he met to behave as honourable as he did.'Daily Mail
