9780007259847: The Desperate Diary of a Country Housewife

For everyone who’s ever dreamed of moving to the country, to those that loathe the idea.

Fresh air, green fields and a new life for the family in a beautiful, rambling country house…

It’s what city dwellers dream about isn’t it? Now when you’ve got to contend with:

• Discovering your home is a national slug hot spot.
• Coffee mornings with unemployed lady-mums (i.e Hell).
• Collapsing ceilings and leaky lavatories.
• Garden warfare with the neighbour.
• Being given a 'Bonnie Tyler' by the local hairdresser.
• Dangerous liaisons with the builder

So it's going to be perfect. Definitely. I think. I mean of course it is.

Or have I made a terrible mistake?

From the Back Cover:

Fresh air, lush green fields, abundant wildlife, a rambling (aka dilapidated) house may all be idyllic and lovely but not when you've got to contend with:
•Discovering your home is a national slug hot spot
•Coffee mornings with unemployed lady-mums (i.e Hell)
•Collapsing ceilings and leaky lavatories
•Garden warfare with the neighbours
•Being given a 'Bonnie Tyler' by the local hairdresser

Based on The Country Mole, the hugely successful Sunday Times column, The Diary of a Desperate Country Housewife is a sharp, witty, incredibly rude and highly entertaining account of real country living.
