About the Author:

Patrick Hook has previously spent months aboard ships studying the weather all over the world. He is a direct descendant of the famous 17th century inventor and all-round genius Robert Hooke, a contemporary and rival of Sir Isaac Newton, who counted meteorological research and discoveries among his many and varied accomplishments.
Hook holds a PhD in physics from the University of Exeter and as part of a related MBA he studied with members of the meteorological office.
