Review:
Entering the world of wine can be a daunting business at first: red or white, French, Italian or New World - and what exactly constitutes New World? Today's vast range can instil panic in a new wine-buyer with some of the cheaper bottles better than the more expensive. And whilst recommendations by friends are always welcome, one person's tonic can be another's poison.. Step in wine expert Julie Arkell with a straightforward no-nonsense guide to the world of wine. From production to the off-licence and supermarket, the viticultural process is clearly explained, accompanied by lavish photographs to make an enjoyable perusal of this attractive, informative book. For anyone looking to understand wine better, they can certainly not go wrong here. Read, absorb and then feel confident enough to ask for a particular wine in a restaurant or shop and no more "what do you recommend?.." - Lucy Watson
