PreS-Gr. 1. Kids will immediately connect with Billy Tibbles. There he is on the book jacket, a stuffed animal clutched in one hand, a skateboard in the other, and a big scowl on his face. This cat-boy has been seriously wronged. The problem? Younger brother Eric is moving into Billy's room. Billy hates sharing and decides to move out to sleep in the bathtub, and then in the scary shed. When he finally heads back to the bedroom, he's surprised to see little Eric jumping on the bed, and it looks like so much fun, Billy and his sister, Twinkle, join in. Now, this is the kind of sharing Billy can get into! Here's a book that gets it all right, especially the way the impositions of family life can be leavened by family fun. The energetic watercolors--double-page spreads as well as spot art--have so much detailed humor, children will recognize themselves as well as a whole household panorama. This has the potential to be a real family favorite. Ilene Cooper
