Dame Ngaio Marsh was born in New Zealand in 1895 and died in February 1982. She wrote over 30 detective novels and many of her stories have theatrical settings, for Ngaio Marsh's real passion was the theatre. She was both actress and producer and almost single-handedly revived the New Zealand public's interest in the theatre. It was for this work that she received what she called her `damery' in 1966.From AudioFile:
When British Home Secretary Sir Derek O'Callahan dies, only his "ice maiden" wife considers the matter worth investigation. It comes as no surprise that everyone wished the unpleasant man dead. James Saxon, with his British accent, narrates this mystery expertly. He uses subtle changes in tone and inflection to distinguish his characters and switches to women's voices with equal success. This clever mystery makes a satisfying addition to any audio collection. J.M. (c)AudioFile, Portland, Maine
