'Economics for GCSE' is designed to meet the requirements of all BCSE Economics syllabuses. It caters for students of a wide range of ability and, in this edition, also takes careful account of the needs of students following courses in Further Education colleges. It is structured in such a way as to encourage active, enquiry-based learning.

Each of the double-page Units focuses on a specific topic. Students are led into the topic by means of stimulus material, which introduces the topic and sets it in a meaningful context. Study Points prompt students to interpret the stimulus material and to answer questions relating to it.

The rest of each Unit is carefully structured to aid learning. The text is pitched at an appropriate level and includes illustrations, charts and diagrams. Key Terms are highlighted and defined separately. Checkpoints provide a basic test of understanding Coursework Suggestions provide ideas for individual research and enquiry.

At intervals throughout the book, the author has included sections, which contain Data Response and Essay Questions relating to the preceding Units.
