Granny has come to look after Sam and Rosie because Mum has had to go away for a few days' rest. She promises to bring them back a wonderful present. They miss her, but they enjoy helping Granny, and makes them delicious toffee and ginger bread men.
The two of them decide to go down to the meadow. Sam takes his bike and Rosie takes her pram, and they search for honeysuckle by the stream. When they come back, there is a real live baby in the pram. How on earth did it happen? And what will they do? Rosie is determined to look after the baby, but of course she can't keep it. And what will Mum's wonderful present be when she comes home?
