This beautiful book on Mother Teresa and the Sisters of Charity, has been compiled by the Japanese photographer, Morihiro Oki, from pictures taken throughout his twenty-year acquaintance with her.

The images present a genuine account of the work she instituted on the streets of Calcutta – and from there, around the world – and in her homes for the destitute and dying, for orphaned children, for those with mental and physical disabilities, and for leprosy victims. The accompanying captions encapsulate the nature of, and inspiration behind, this incredible work.

Published on the first anniversary of her death, Mother Teresa: Love Without Limit provides a precious and lasting memory of this indomitable woman for all who admired and were fascinated by her.

MORIHIRO OKI was born in Kyoto in 1929. He graduated from Kinki University Business School and, inspired as a student by Eugene Smith's work, became a freelance photographer.

He has photographed the war-displaced Japanese returning home, emigrating to Brazil, and scenes from a devastated Japan in the immediate post-war days. In 23 years, he has visited India over 80 times to cover Indian culture as a whole; and he introduced Mother Teresa to Japan.

He is a member of the Japan Professional Photographers Society, and his main works include: 'Mother Teresa: Full of Love' (Kodansha), 'Mother Teresa and her Sisters' (photo collection, Daughters of St. Paul), 'INDIA: Fairs and Festivals', (photo collection, Gakken), and 'Ancient Buddhist Sites of Sanchi and Barhut', (Yuzankaku).

About the Author:

Morihiro Oki has photographed Japanese refugees, boat people and a war-devastated Japan as well as visiting India regularly to photograph life, culture and religion. He is a member of the Japan Photographers Association and was responsible for introducing Mother Teresa to Japan.
