Set between the wars, this is the story of Violetta Denver who, with her sister Dorabella, is taken to Germany. There Dorabella meets and falls in love with Dermot Tregarland, a Cornishman visiting the area. But it is the 1930s and the growth of the Nazi party forces them to return home.
