A black and white photograph of four World War 2 spitfires flying in formation. Back of photograph states 'Supplied by The Topical Press Agency' Attached to reverse of photograph is a December 1942 news release from the 'Topical Press' stating that a new model of Spitfire is in operation(depicted on the photograph) and how to tell this model apart from earlier Spitfires. The text has been partly censored(an attempt to obscure squadron details which is unsuccessful) and stamped approved for issue. Purple text(presumablely repographically produced by a method predating modern photocopying) which has slightly stained the front of the photograph. This may have been caused by slight water damage.
