Hi, This lot is the rare 1939 Original Hardback. The second year of the new style hardback. This book is better than many for a poor year. It has very nice gilts with bright lettering to the front and the spine, the boards have a touch wear but better than many. The hinges are strong but you can see mesh at the front but as you can see from the pictures it holds the board well off the table, hence string hinges and tightly bound. Clean pages inside. Most hinges are broken on 39s. Condition=7/10. Seller Inventory # 676814
