About this Item
We offer a scarce early lacrosse item. This membership certificate approves F. L. Creesy as a member of the Harvard Lacrosse Association "having paid the assessment and signed the constitution." It is signed by A. K. Stone as Secretary and dated Cambridge February 15, 1882. The splendid wax seal of the association, which features a pair of crossed lacrosse sticks in the center of a laurel wreath is dated 1877. Printed on a folded sheet of paper that measures 8 ¼ x 5 1/8 when folded. Condition: Paper lightly toned from a previous mat, mounting remnants on verso, right blank edge minimally and unevenly trimmed, seal has some lines but is intact, generally good condition and quite presentable with all flaws mentioned only for accuracy.
